Resilience & Innovation Summit | June 6-7
Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Global Travel and Tourism Resilience Council serves the worldwide travel industry, facilitating planning and preparation for crisis response, recovery and resilience issues.

As an international network and forum for governments and businesses, the Resilience Council (RC) brings the public and private sectors together in the development of sustainable frameworks enabling business growth.

Our goal is simple; to support destinations and businesses to minimise the impact of crisis situations, yet maximise learnings while embedding a resilient culture.

Through sharing information and best practices in preparedness, crisis management, resilience and disaster recovery, destinations improve, businesses flourish and traveller mobility increases. Partnering with governments and businesses around the globe, the key objectives of the resilience council are:

  • Global awareness and education for leaders and decision makers through peer-to-peer thought leadership.

  • Resource sharing through best-in-breed companies and organisations with proven applications for sustainability and resiliency.

A message from our Co-Chairs

“The immediate future is not clear as to how quickly we bounce back and what will happen in the next two to three years. The travel industry is resilient. New products will emerge. There are huge opportunities in aviation, hotel services and tour products that will be on offer. Tourism will expand its ability to offer a seamless experience and one that is far more responsive to hygienic practices.  The future is bright, as people will relate better to each other and provide a more wholesome respect for cultures and diversity.”

Minister Edmund Bartlett, MP Government of Jamaica & Co-Chair of the Resilience Council

“No one can do it alone…Collectively, we can harness the power of tourism for resilience.”

Dr. Taleb Rifai, Former Secretary General, UNWTO

Focus

A key focus is to establish the link between data and sustainability in the development of tourism strategies. Data analysis and technology provide a much broader view of contributions to sustainability through tourism dispersion, cultural product development, experiential opportunities, local community inclusion, regional coalitions and financial parity.

Mission

Uniting the travel and tourism industry for sustainable growth.

Our goal is simple, to support destinations and businesses to minimise the impact of crisis situations, yet maximise learnings while embedding a resilient culture. It is through partnering with others, the Council is able to bring forward and highlight knowledge and experience for the benefit of many.
