Intrepid Travel’s Best Year Yet: Record Profits, Bigger Impact, and Bold Plans for the Future
Intrepid Travel just wrapped up its most successful year ever, proving that sustainable tourism and financial success can go hand in hand. The company’s 2024 Integrated Annual Report reveals a year of growth, impact and ambitious plans for the future.
Making Travel Matter: Bigger Impact Than Ever
For Intrepid, success isn’t just about profits—it’s about people and the planet. In 2024, the company invested a record $4.6 million in community and charitable initiatives, supporting everything from climate action to local tourism businesses.
The Intrepid Foundation also raised $2.8 million for 50 community partners worldwide, reinforcing Intrepid’s leadership in responsible tourism.
Leading the Way in Sustainability
Intrepid’s sustainability efforts were recognised in 2024, with its B Corp recertification: it’s score jumping to 102.5—placing it among the world’s top responsible businesses (think Patagonia and Ben & Jerry’s).
Wildland Trekking, an Intrepid-owned trekking outfitter, became the first in its industry to get B Corp certified.
Challenges & The Road Ahead
Of course, big growth brings big challenges. Intrepid saw an increase in carbon emissions due to acquisitions and changes in emissions tracking. But instead of ignoring it, they took action—developing a decarbonization roadmap and bringing in PwC for independent environmental auditing.
Their commitment? To slash emissions and stay on track with 2035 science-based climate targets.
What’s Next: A Bold 2030 Vision
By 2030, Intrepid aims to:
🚀 Serve 600,000 customers
💰 Generate over $1.3 billion in revenue
🌍 Invest revenue into purpose-driven initiatives
With a strong financial foundation, a clear purpose, and a bold strategy, Intrepid is proving that travel can be both profitable and responsible.
This isn’t just a comeback story—it’s a blueprint for the future of sustainable tourism. And if 2024 was any indication, Intrepid Travel is just getting started. 🚀🌍
