New Resilience Council partner Sabre announces first annual Sustainability report
Sabre’s commitment to innovation extends beyond technology. Their focus is on integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into their business foundation to better serve stakeholders, including employees, partners, customers, and travellers worldwide.
For example, in 2017 Sabre’s started to transfer their data to a cloud-based system, meaning that they decreased their carbon footprint significantly compared to when they were running their own data centres. Sabre was able to close 15 data centres across the US, resulting in a meaningful reduction in carbon emissions, and also reducing the impact that adverse weather could potentially have on Sabre’s ability to serve its customers. Sabre is on track to complete this transformation by the end of 2024.
Another pillar is Sabre’s commitment to its people. Part of this is their ‘Work from anywhere’ policy to allow a high working environment flexibility for their employees. Furthermore, they have a commitment to make feel their employees safe in their workspace but also ensure their physical fitness by providing insurances or bike clubs as well as supporting personal development and education.
This also extends to work around inclusivity and diversity, encouraging that employees feel free to be their true self at work and retain their ability to perform at their best as well as Sabre’s engagement of its suppliers. Suppliers need to meet to a code of Business ethics set by Sabre.
